He was the second overall pick in the NFL draft, but the education of Chris Long continues.
With the offseason work now complete, Long points toward training camp as a time when he will simply strive to improve. As for the on-field work after being drafted, Long said, "It's humbling. A lot of it flew by quick. But you see the big picture and you realize it's a cycle and you're starting over again."
Long played in a 3-4 defense in college and also was on the left side. He is now on the right side for the Rams. He is looking forward to the time when he'll be able to just play rather than having to think.
"You're always thinking until you get to that point where you know (your assignments) like the back of your hand," he said.

Former University of Kentucky receiver Keenan Burton says he's reached a three-year deal with the St. Louis Rams. Burton says his agent, Todd France, finished the deal on Thursday. Burton says he believes the contract to be worth more than $1 million. Burton was selected by the Rams in the fourth round of the NFL Draft in April.

One of the new owners of the Rams says he has been approached by "several people" about selling the team and there is "every intention" of keeping the NFL franchise in St. Louis. Chip Rosenbloom issued a statement Tuesday, denying a report by Yahoo Sports that the team was on the market and being shopped for up to $900 million, with a sale raising the possibility of a return to Los Angeles.

After holding summer training camp at home for three years, the St. Louis Rams are heading to Wisconsin. The Rams announced on Tuesday that they've chosen Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, a suburb of Milwaukee. The Rams considered returning to Western Illinois University and looked at Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The Boston Herald sports writer who reported the New England Patriots taped a pre-Super Bowl walkthrough by the St. Louis Rams in 2002 said he will regret the erroneous story for the rest of his life. Former New England assistant coach Brian Daboll told the NFL he doesn't remember speaking with Matt Walsh about the St. Louis Rams' walkthrough Walsh attended the day before the 2002 Super Bowl. Even if Daboll and New England's former video assistant did speak about it, "it would not be a violation of NFL rules," the league said Thursday.

Hold on, NFL. Spygate isn't over. Not if an "incensed" senator from Pennsylvania has anything to do with it. Sen. Arlen Specter on Wednesday called for an independent investigation of the New England Patriots' taping of opposing coaches' signals, possibly similar to the high-profile Mitchell Report on performance enhancing drugs in baseball.
