He was the second overall pick in the NFL draft, but the education of Chris Long continues.

With the offseason work now complete, Long points toward training camp as a time when he will simply strive to improve. As for the on-field work after being drafted, Long said, "It's humbling. A lot of it flew by quick. But you see the big picture and you realize it's a cycle and you're starting over again."

Long played in a 3-4 defense in college and also was on the left side. He is now on the right side for the Rams. He is looking forward to the time when he'll be able to just play rather than having to think.

"You're always thinking until you get to that point where you know (your assignments) like the back of your hand," he said.

Kentucky’s Burton reaches deal with Rams (AP)

Friday, July 4th, 2008 Former University of Kentucky receiver Keenan Burton says he's reached a three-year deal with the St. Louis Rams. Burton says his agent, Todd France, finished the deal on Thursday. Burton says he believes the contract to be worth more than $1 million. Burton was selected by the Rams in the fourth round of the NFL Draft in April.

Chip Rosenbloom issued a statement Tuesday, denying a report by Yahoo Sports that the team was on the market and being shopped for up to $900 million, with a sale raising the possibility of a return to Los Angeles.

The Boston Herald apologized to the New England Patriots on the front page of their Wednesday May 14, 2008 newspaper for falsely reporting that the Patriots videotaped a St Louis Rams walkthrough the day before their 2002 Super Bowl XXXVI contest . The Patriots defeated the Rams 20-17 in an upset win becoming Super Bowl Champions for the first time in franchise history.

Hold on, NFL. Spygate isn't over. Not if an "incensed" senator from Pennsylvania has anything to do with it. Sen. Arlen Specter on Wednesday called for an independent investigation of the New England Patriots' taping of opposing coaches' signals, possibly similar to the high-profile Mitchell Report on performance enhancing drugs in baseball.

Kraft complimented the Boston Herald on Wednesday May 14, 2008 for apologizing for a story that said his team videotaped a St. Louis Rams walkthrough before the 2002 Super Bowl.

Robert Kraft picked up the newspaper at his home Wednesday morning and was happy to see the front-page headline in big capital letters: "SORRY, PATS" The Patriots owner felt vindicated by the Boston Herald's apology after a season -- and offseason -- of reports the NFL's most successful franchise of the decade had spied on opponents.
